yeah looks like a browser compatibility issue. i guess i'll have to test my page on more platforms.
mine alternate!
Why does the dreams thread never un-bold for me? It must be really important.
i suspect you had never clicked the actual title, but you had always been clicking the "(5)" link to go to the last page. but now i've removed the page num link, and made the title link default to the last page of the thread.
unless there's content in that thread that you haven't seen, in which case it'll bring you to the first post in that thread that is new to you. either way, everyone's "new to you" functionality should now work as advertised.

so, i know i'm pretty website retarded, but i don't think i can add a thread to a specific sub-forum. I wanted to add a thread to the bugs forum so that i could say that when i initially open the main page in a new firefox browser, my name doesn't show up on the "currently logged in" list until i hit the "home" link, or come back to the page in my current browser. it's like 409 doesn't realize i'm logged in when i first go to the page unless i do something else first. it wasn't like that before, so that's why i brought it up.
i also feel like the subforum should be bold if there are unread threads in it. that way we don't have to go all the way to the list of threads inside a subforum to see if there are posts we haven't read.

????????????
edit: nihongo is busted

this is a totally computarded question, but what is a subforum? like a thread?
Rachel -- yes i need to fix that, currently the "make a new thread" link always goes to add a thread to the Main subforum.
edit: fixed it, so now if you're viewing a forum and click on "make a new thread" it should add it to the right place
Drew -- I have some input filtering now, which is supposed to fix things like dangling HTML tags and stuff.. but i guess it's ruining your nihongo too. i'll look into it
V -- it's basically like putting threads into subfolders

pro tip -- if you *really* want to make a new thread in a different forum, figure out the forum ID (look at your address bar when you're viewing it), and then go to /thread/add/{forum ID} -- currently the make a new thread link defaults to /thread/add/2.
edit: this pro tip is no longer useful since i made the link work for subforums

i never needed it before, but now that i do it's not available. it'd be nice to clear out some of my unwanted avatars.
how about marking all threads as OFN?
whenever i click on a thread, it automatically jumps to the middle of the page and then i have to scroll around to figure out where the new stuff on the page is. it's annoying.
i think it takes you to the part of the thread you haven't been to yet. i actually enjoy that feature.
it doesnt for me. just now matt's "eye-stabbingly red" comment was the first one on the screen, but scott's was obviously the first one that i hadn't read yet. so i had to scroll down aways to see what i hadn't read.
edit: and after I post, it jumps back to that same spot on the page.

I changed my avatar but its still showing the old one in actual threads. ?
what is that? it kinda looks like two tiny octopuses making out on a kitchen counter
The avatar url has a cache expiration time of 24 hours. If you hit f5 on any thread page it should explicitly reload the img.
that's what she said, scott.
