this thread needed to happen anyway.

I guess setting a limit isn't bad per se. However, It remains to be seen if 250GB is an appropriate limit. It'd be nice to have a "this is how much you've used this month" page that you can load up.
just got off the phone with comcast, their tech support could do little more than send reset messages to the modems. so i got the modems at PMC and Rachel's house reset, not that it'll help anything. sigh
wait, so you can have comcast reset other peoples' modems too? maybe those "scheduled outages in your area" were really just someone putting a reset hit out on our moden! my guess is that it's those card-carrying commies living south of us. they're overdue for a good past-or-present-holiday-decoration pelting! hmm, what to toss? maybe some pigs wearing medical masks in celebration of cinco de mayo? or perhaps a bunch of those valentine's day heart candies, but only purple ones with their message altered to say "RIP." :O

comcast is hijacking DNS.. let's opt out at PMC

edit: i suspect that link just got slash-dotted, or maybe it's only viewable from comcast customer accounts. anyway i can't load it from work.
*bump* arif, could you please do this? i'm too lazy to come downstairs to see what the modem's mac address is.
done and done. they should complete the request in the next two business days.
I had an appointment for comcast to pick up our equipment between 11-2, and they never called or showed up.

So I called around 3:30, and they said the guy was running like / dispatched another guy. Anyways, the guy showed up like 20 minutes later, so we're comcast free!

The guy asked "so how's Clear Internet?" I guess he noticed the clear modem, so I was like "it's pretty good. you just plug it in and it works." I thought it was some kind of survey he had to do, but then he said "yeah, I was thinking about switching too." lol, gj comcast! He also said Clear is looking to release TV sometime next year, and all you'll need to do is screw something into the back of your set and you'll get a la carte TV! And you'd be able to take the device with you and watch on any tv. :O Now that would be sweet! Thanks for the scoop comcast dude!

yet another reason to know somebody with a comcast account -- TV Everywhere allows you to authorize up to 3 *computers* to stream video-on-demand.. unlike espn360, where you just have to log in from anywhere with internet. still, if you authorize 2 of your friends' laptops, then hi-de-ho.
Comcast Launches Data Usage Meter -- so you'll know how close you are to the 250 GB limit

eh?
