When singers rhyme a word with the same word.

Case in point:

I could have another you in a minute

Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute, baby

Beyonce, Irreplaceable

No comment on choice of example
I actually think that's a fantastic choice of example, because whenever I heard that song it makes me angry that she does that
as an artist i can say that knowing the rule and breaking the rule is perfectly acceptable. i think beyonce's choice to tell the story instead of rhyming two different words was a good choice. i've done the same to keep the integrity of a song together. screw what's expected of you. so you're not a fan? too bad.
the anti-folk movement is now in full swing.

409
isnt club 409 one big 'things that annoy me' thread?
that made me lol

and yes, yes it is
Bitch you ride the MARTA bus

Girl this ain't no charter bus

If you ride with me you pay a fee

Kinda like that MARTA bus

case CLOSED

those beyonce lyrics bother me too actually. i prefer bitch you ride the marta bus.
now the MARTA bus lyric is a different situation, much like Nelly's Country Grammar. it's perfectly okay with me if you precede a common ending word with different rhyming words:

...

Who say pretty boys can't be wild niggaz?

Loud niggaz, O.K. Corral niggaz

Foul niggaz, run in the club and bust in the crowd nigga

How nigga? Ask me again and it's goin down nigga

Now nigga, come to the circus and watch me clown nigga

Pound niggaz, what you be givin when I'm around nigga

Frown niggaz, talkin shit when I leave the town nigga

Say now, can you hoes come out to play now

Hey I'm, ready to cut you up any day now

...etc...
This does not annoy me.

lil wayne:

Doin a buck in the latest drop

I got stopped by a lady cop

she got me thinking I can date a cop

cause her uniform pants are so tight

She read me my rights

She put me in nah car, she cut off all the lights

She said I had the right

to remain silent

Now I got her hollering sounding like a siren

And I know she the law, and she know I'm the boss [i think he tries to rhyme law with boss there]

And she know I can hide a-bove the law

.....

also annoying: rhythm that sounds anesthetized

but it's a popular song amongst my associates for obvious reasons
