Since when did they have the "terrain" feature?
i saw it before christmas, maybe even before thanksgiving. don't you pay attention to anything?
i hardly switch it from the regular map style, so I guess I dont look in that corner of the display. sigh.
I didn't notice it either, and I use it a lot for work.

They have updated the satellite imagery for my house. Before there was snow on the ground and it was the old house, now it's the new house but while it was still under construction, you can tell by all of the work trucks parked in front of the house. You can see the horses too, that's hilarious.

I liked all the snow on the ground though.

I guess this could also go in the "Google's new thing" thread.. anyway:

Google Map Maker

Allows you to make edits to google maps. They've had a "report" feature which I've used twice, to let them know that construction on a particular road has finished. However, the reports process takes a long time (on the order of weeks / months). These Map Maker edits are reviewed in real time by other users (and presumably, eventually reach somebody with some kind of authority at google).

I'm looking forward to a much more responsive map of the world (especially since I use android navigation) :-D

edit: here's google's blog about it
