Grand Central

It does all sorts of things for phones. Look at the features section. They're taking reservations now for when they open the beta up wider. I reserved a 404 number I think.
I just got my beta invitation and sent out a few invitations to you guys. You're limited to 10 invitations, so if i didnt get to you, and you want one, post in here; i'm sure someone else that I invited will be happy to send one your way.
also lets try to avoid the joost craziness; if you're going to send an invite to someone, reply in here so we know who's already been invited.
i haven't heard anything since i reserved the number, hopeully with an invite i'll get some functionality, no?
yeah you definitely get some functionality with the invite.
haven't seen the invite yet :(
w00t! Mobile Google Maps It works amazingly fast too. Although if you're paying for your data plan by the kb, this probably isn't for you.
whoops.. turns out drew was not one of the ppl i had invited. I was using gmail's email auto-complete, and then copying from one tab to the other.. but i was doing it at work :-X and got distracted in the middle, so apparently after i auto-completed drew's email address, i moved on to the next one without actually pasting it in the form.

no worries, because one of the invites i sent bounced back because their email wasn't set up to accept stuff from me.. their loss :) you should have the link in your suprmelo.at.g account now.
yay! more ease of use without the complications of safely compartmentalizing your personal information!
haha, I found another kayak across the pacific ocean glitch

vote for doodles! I'm not sure if this is new, but i like the idea.
Chrome OS, based on the Chrome browser. I'm not sure how you base an OS of of a browser, but I guess they're targeting netbooks, so it kind of makes sense. It'll be open source later this year.
project 10^100 -- you may have seen something about this before.. go vote
not to tell people how to vote or anything, but i know i just glaze over when i hear about kids being blown up by landmines and i get plum buttfustered every time i see a stereotypical portrayal of an engineer, some things just have to stop
suggest gmail features -- not to tell people how to vote or anything, but i highly recommend voting for "sorting by size" so you can delete large messages to clear out space. I'm only using 22% of my (now) 7382 MB, but my usage definitely goes up faster than my quota.
done and done -- more sorting options would be helpful
chrome's javascript engine is freakin l33t. This doesn't work in IE8, and it looks terrible in firefox, but man how deliciously evil it looks in chrome. no images were used in the depth of field demo. :O

haha this one is fun too!
It looks okay in firefox on my machine. What sort of artifacts should I be looking for?
Google held a press conference for Chrome OS today. Cloud computing doesn't seem practical for an os, but I guess it makes sense for netbooks where the primary use is browsing the web. I wonder how well it'll perform in an offline mode.

bill, apparently later versions of firefox have a js engine that can handle those demo apps fairly well. I guess my friend had an older version because it seemed like it was running at 3 fps.
