mom and i bought tickets. they were about 400.
for all you non-math majors, free > $36 > $400 (> read as better than), and guaranteed seating > lottery seating, but college football should be free to watch ∴ i'm willing to pay at most $36 for student seating.

p.s. - I love flashman2's comment/i want a keyboard that has the ∴ symbol on it! mostly bc I can't honestly say I've ever seen one before. :O
students can only order one set of tickets each. i tried to order more than one and it wouldn't let me. i don't know what student would be willing to give up their own guaranteed ticket for you, arif. the only people i would have thought to ask have graduated. the best i can do is figure out a way to get extra tickets from the lottery, but i'm not sure i'm allowed to do that.
i think you can buy tickets in the "jacket's nest" for $70-something. they usually sell out pretty quickly. we also don't buy the lowest section so there are some that are cheaper. but most of the money goes back to the school, so that's why i don't have a problem with paying it. i guess that's why college football can't be free to watch. school's gotta make their millions somewhere.
i still owe those basterds like $90k, so once i'm done paying that back i'll have no problem contributing extra moneys for football games. I suppose that cost is like 97% my fault, but still, bump that.

speaking of basterds
lol...Ryan Perrilloux, the J'ville St. QB (who transferred from LSU) has been suspended for the season opener against us. should be a fun game...
i've been trying to figure out if there are any ways for me to get extra tickets for free but i can't figure out any way to do it. tickets are put on your buzzcard before the game, so even if i could get more than one student ticket put on my card (which i dont think you can do), we'd have to pass back or something lame like that. they do have guest tickets for sale tho. for small games (jville state, wake forest and one or two others), they will be half-price, $12.50. It would be put on my buzzcard, and we'd have to enter a special gate together. For other games, guest tickets are $25, with the same procedures. For big, sold out games (like UGA), you can forget about it. They already told us that.

So in conclusion, let me know in advance if you want a guest tickets to a particular game, and I'll do my best to get one for you. I've made it known that I think the new system sucks, as do many others. It was the frats and sororities that screwed it up for everyone else, so blame them.

Oh yeah, I won't be here for the homecoming game I think, so i won't be using my student ticket. I'm going to observe the card swiping process at the first couple games and figure out if i can get away with giving one of you my card for that game if you want it. but if they check cards, then i guess we cant.
Is it still set up that you can only get 1 guest ticket per buzzcard?
hmm. not sure about that. i feel like i SHOULD be able to get as many tickets as im willing to pay for, which im sure means im not allowed to do that. fml.
Btw, if it's one guest ticket per card, dibs on v's!

Also, I think the best plan of action is to befriend any one of a number of arif dopplegangers guaranteed to be found @ tech--since all brown people look the same--and convince him to hook me up with a copy of his buzzcard and free football access.
yah i can only get one guest ticket per buzzcard. so, arif, do you want to go to the jville state game next weekend? since it's a small game tickets are $12.50.
Yeah I'm down! Go ahead and buy it and I'll pay ya back.
V, were you planning on going early/tail-gating? I have an eye exam at noon that I'll try to move earlier, but if not, I might not get there until just before the game starts.
mom and i are planning on tailgating. not sure what time, i'll let you know when we figure it out. we have a parking permit for the student center lot again.
i didnt have tailgating plans. maybe i'll crash rachel's.
I thought the game was this coming saturday, so I'll be good to go whenver next saturday.
bought'd: ticket for one, arif rahman.
sweet!

btw, money is kind of tight right now so I might have to pay you later. :D j/k haha, I'm so funny!
with oklahoma, uga, and vt losing this week, we might be in the top ten pretty soon. of course that standing won't last long if we maintain the same level of ball control as our first game. it was drizzling a little, but that's no excuse for nesbitt to drop the ball that many times. His throws were a little off the mark too, slightly overthrown a few times, but at least he seemed to make smart decisions. although if we play against a more talented secondary then those overthrown balls could easily turn into INTs (and not the useful 32-bit variety either, if you know what i mean).

(matt, is there a way to create subforums within an existing thread? e.g. - '09-'10 season)
no, what'll have to happen is i'll make an NCAA football forum, move this thread into it, and eventually break it down into season-based threads
