any good?
i played the first one back freshman year or so, it seemed fun, was busy with other games though i guess
my brother played it quite a bit, i believe he enjoyed it. it's pretty darn accurate for all of the weapons, like even the bullet casing spray of automatic weapons acts like the real thing :)
The game was more "real" than a lot of other shooters in that running, jumping, side-stepping, etc. were slow and clumsy. I haven't played recently, and I never played the sequel.
Some parts were fairly entertaining; if I had the time, I might try out the new one.

Rock Band double bass update - this will be cheaper than the asshats selling their drum pedals on e-bay for $50, and it comes with a splitter (maybe even better than a splitter b/c with the current setup you have to pick up the first foot before the second hit will register, perhaps their hardware will accomodate leaving one foot down while you step with the other.. we'll see), so i'll probably just buy one of these when it comes out
Spy!
more new RTS/FPS shens coming this fall
For all you TA lovers out there, Spring is a 3D engine designed for RTS games, with many of the games/mods based around the original TA. I haven't downloaded it yet because I'm waiting for them to release a stable version with multiplayer support, but one of those games might be a good choice for our monday rotation! I wouldn't mind playing some original TA. I'm pretty sure it had 1v1 online support.
i think TA has 4v4 online support. but beware of playing against bots... the AI will nuke you into oblivion on anything higher than easy, because its supercharged by the processing power of modern computers.
that actually sounds kind of badassed, and ominous what with all the terminator hype
Use old gamepads with your wii! - for $20, coming soon
haha, I like how the adapter looks like a mini N64, but i would've preferred a mini NES though.
natal seems kind of cool, as long as your not a GAE. i think wii games are fun for parties, but when I'm gaming by my lonesome I like to recline on the couch and just mash buttons. so i guess i'm only a GAE in private. :O an air guitar game could be fun, especially for those of us who aren't experts at rock band and the like.
interacting with virtual characters doesn't really appeal to me. although getting it to recognize a dickbutt or gen pop drawing could be amusing, haha: "oh god! what..what is that?! what's wrong with his face? is that a screw driver? oh..oh no!" "you've just been gen popped milo!"
it could be fun to play a game where you're dressed like this guy:
One Man Band

yeah the virtual character thing seems like the last thing you do before never talking to a real person ever again
I just finished Bioshock. I'd say it was alright. There was a lot of hype going on about it, but I held out for a while to get it cheaper a few months back, and I just took to finishing it today. I'll start giving games ratings now too. I give Bioshock 3 out of 5 finding ammunition 2 bullets at a time.
