Up In the Air: 5/5, very good and timely movie. Also includes a well placed Elliott Smith song

tanker tuesday: The Book of Eli
Somehow going to see Avatar at the imax turned into seeing Leap Year.
1.2/5. Really bad movie. I only give it 1.2 stars because some dude with a crazy hat kept walking back and forth in front of me and at first I thought he was in the movie.

He had a stroke after that commercial started airing. Coincidence? But yes, it's an awesome commercial. That's how it's done!
First music I ever owned was a charlie daniels tape.
tanker tuesday tonight: the book of eli, all are welcome
showtime is 7:30, we'll be getting there a lil early to get our food order in
probably won't make it. sorry.
The Book of Eli - The tension and bleakness is great. You might think that it would be way over the top, but you still feel like it could be a real place/scenario. Would have liked if the scope of the movie was a little wider. SPOILERS COMING UP WHY ARE YOU STILL READING MICHAEL I'M TALKING TO YOU: With a wider scope I think they could have explored the implications of the biblical message in a post apocalyptic world. They introduce the idea that it may have started the whole thing, but never resolve the issue. Was Eli just on a quest to catalog it? Did he need only to keep it out of the hands of the bad guys? Or was the actual message of the bible going to affect how things turned out? Maybe there's some symbology in the movie that might help explain it. Did anybody ever watch the anime Evangelion? Michael, I know you did. They used a lot of judeo-christian symbolism, but it had very little bearing on the story. Once I found out it wasn't really relevant to the story, it felt like a distraction. Whatever. Statement from me after seeing the film: "I feel like my life could use a lot more piety and badassery"

Alice in wonderland this weekend?
Hot Tub Time Machine
certainly no need to rush to the theatre for this one, but it was exactly what it intended to be and pretty damn funny.
3.5/5 missing right arms

alexandria, VA for work. i'll be flying up here for the next few weeks, maybe longer. (edit: 5 weeks) That note I left myself saying the movie wasn't worth having to maintain the time paradox seems fairly authentic considering is has a picture of homer with a thought bubble around the message and a p.s. with a detail to the puking/peeing/streaking incident down in melbourne that I never shared with anyone, but I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow?! :O
Mike, you should've told me you were going to be in town, I might could've convinced my manager that I wouldn't be able to fly up to VA until next week. Oh well, seeya when I seeya!
edit: The family guy episode that's on while I was typing this post has time travel!
