i dunno about your clock statement, shawn. i believe all of the other deaths happened right in the closing scene, but curtis got shot a lil ways before the ending. time will tell, however. time will tell.

I know what you're saying Matt. I figured that if Curtis had died that they would have put it at the end and given him the silent clock. I figure if Jack had wanted to kill him, he would have shot him in the head.
That's what I figured too. Why not a head shot? But we'll see.
c'mon guys we all know that NO tv deaths are official until someone blatantly puts two fingers to a guy's neck and say the words "he's dead/gone/wet"
i disagree with shawn's theory based on the circumstances around curtis getting shot. just as i think tony didn't deserve a silent clock because he died while going against the greater good, i feel curtis didn't get a silent clock because he died as a result of going against the best interests of those involved. edgar went out in the line of duty and definitely deserved his silent clock.
That is an interesting point I haven't thought about it before. His and Tony's situation were similar, although I still think that he isn't dead because he wasn't declared dead.
Maybe they're trying to invoke nostalgia by shooting yet another key black man in the neck...Palmer died, what'll happen this time? My guess is that he's alive.
I originally thought he was shot in the neck as well. But watching it again and pausing it, it looks to me that he was shot a little lower in the right subclavian/right common carotid area. Either way he should be dead. I think Bauer had to kill curtis, otherwise just injuring him wouldve given him a chance to kill al-assad. I also believe Bauer didnt have an angle to pull of the head shot cleanly. I may be wrong, but I'm under the impression that if you shoot someone in the head that has a finger on the trigger, the hand will tighten and they will shoot out of contraction of the muscles.
I think there's a distinct possibility of that auto-fire happening with the head shot. Especially if Jack were good enough to actually hit that previously referred-to bundle of nerves that is responsible for controlling that arm, which might mean there would be no way of pulling the trigger. OH well, common carotid is bad news :-D
:O (p.s. - you guys suck! I was on the elevator at work at 8:47, and I rushed home to watch 24 with you guys, but no one was home! jerks!)
once you start to think you've seen it all, 24 throws something else at ya.
Indeed
heheh way to go 24 dudes. I totally did not see that coming, even after the previews. Sorry about not being there arif, btw. I have work every monday from 8-9 now! gaaaa!!!
i was surprised as well. the wall behind the spot where my 24 would have been displayed changed to a shade of tv reflection blue for about 3 seconds monday evening. the 24 peeps really have some amazing powers over the molecules in my wall paint and the light waves flowing from my household light bulbs.
you and your lack of television.. you know what could solve that?
a free tv capture card... assuming you're using a cable modem at home.

This is great. Now you can watch 24 episodes on the FOX website. Commercial free too!
Just a reminder that 24 is a 2-hour special this monday starting at 8 et.
